About Us
Anne and Mo are two friends from opposite sides of the continent and either side of the Canada-US border. We met online through our love of Battlestar, and soon realized that a deeper, less show-related, friendship had formed. We love to travel and hang out together, and seeking out the locations from the show has given us just the best excuse. It's amazing to stand where a favourite scene was filmed; the deja vu is immediate, and it's even better when you can share the experience with someone who is not only a friend, but also has the same love and excitement for the show.
So many people have helped us over the course of two trips and the construction of this website. We can't thank them enough. Valorie Hoye, of the 13th Colony, Vancouver's pre-eminent BSG fanclub, was the first to provide us with location photos and information for our first trip. Her generosity, as well as the information gathered by Steve Fronczek of Galactiguise, made our first venture out to Vancouver an amazing one.
When planning a second trip, Julie Bernard at the BC Film Commission forwarded my email to the location manager for the series (including Razor and The Plan), Kent Sponagle. He kindly offered his continued help, and over the next several months, we sent screencaps back and forth. Kent identified every location. Numerous emails were sent between us (Anne and Mo) sharing excitement over newly found locations. Kent has been amazing; there can't be enough thank yous.
We would also like to thank Vicci Weller, Gina Marks, Henry Threlfall, Darren Charlton, Harry (Deep Cove Marina), Mary (Vancouver Theatre), Arthur (BC Entertainment Hall of Fame Society), Denise Kinvig, Gary Johnston, Cyndy Luo, and Christine Kilpatrick for their time, enthusiasm, and generosity in helping us with our trips and location scouting. People seem to light up when you mention Battlestar--it was amazing to see the love that's still out there for a show that has ended.
Thanks also to Dennys Ilic for the use of his photo 'Dreaming of Life [Mary McDonnell], Maurice Woodworth, Robin and Natalie Shantz and Paul Yates for the use of their 'behind the scenes' photography. Thanks also to Katie King, for the photoshopping of the Fleet Centre Library in Vancouver, Sara013, for the photoshopping of the Raptor for the Season 4 banner, and Guy Earle, for the 'Your Trips' banner photo.
We hope that you will enjoy seeing the locations on this website as much as we've enjoyed scouting them out!
Are you planning your own trip? Everything you need is here! We would love to hear your stories and see pics of your trip (especially if you've been somewhere we were unable to visit). Please use the form below to contact us.
