People often travel to new places in search of cultural, emotional and historical connections that can only be made by 'being there.' Film tourism is really no different. Walking onto a driftwood-covered beach on a rainy Vancouver area afternoon can offer the same kinds of connections for Battlestar fans. In this case, the connection is to the fictional despair of a group of weary travellers setting foot on the radioactive soil of what was supposed to be their new home. It may not be real, but the emotions are--there's something truly amazing about 'being there.'
