For an easterner, there is nothing quite like driving through the rain-soaked mountain pass between Vancouver and Kamloops, British Columbia, to come out into the sunshine on the other side. Kamloops was home to the Battlestar Galactica cast and crew for the filming of 'Eye of Jupiter,' 'Rapture' and 'Daybreak.' Its unique desert-like terrain and sprawling grasslands were perfect for the algae planet and Earth 2.0.

Locations Photography
Photos taken while scouting 'the Hoodoos' for use as the algae planet (also known as the 'hot fudge sundae' planet). This location is on private (Indian) land.
Photos taken while crew members scouted the Kamloops grasslands for use as Earth 2.0 in the series' final episode, 'Daybreak.' Everything was extremely hush hush as the crew did not wish to give away any spoilers for the finale. This location is also on private land. These are amazing panoramic shots, so don't forget to click and enlarge them!
Behind the Scenes
Filming 'Eye of Jupiter' and 'Rapture.' The red-haired gentleman (with Jamie Bamber in several photos) was the Mayor of Kamloops and the chair of the Thompson-Nicola Film Commission. He is currently the BC Minister of the Environment.
