Robert Burnaby Park, at the south end near the baseball diamond, located off Edmonds and 4 Street
Both locations in this episode were in the same park. Robert Burnaby Park, at the south end near the baseball diamond, located off Edmonds and 4 Street 1. Roslin's Dream Forest Travel Tips: There is a parking lot right in front of the baseball diamond. Follow the path on the right field (right side) of the baseball diamond into the woods. The tree where Leoben covers Laura's mouth appears right away. If you turn left and continue, in about 10-20 meters you'll come upon the location in the bottom photos. The location of the second photo is more difficult. The key is to find the tree in the foreground--it's much narrower in real life than it looks in the pictures, but it's intact, exactly as it was years ago when this was filmed. This site beats the Kobol sites for tree matching! 2. Six and Doral's Swingset Photo courtesy of the 13th Colony Location Notes: Kent indicated that the swing set was close to the entrance to the forest. The 13th Colony verified this at a meet up in Robert Burnaby Park. They were able to match the swing set area to a behind-the-scenes photo and shared their findings with us!

This episode has four locations. 1. Delphi museum The West Mall building, Simon Fraser University Entrance is where Burnaby Mountain Parkway meets Gaglardi Way. Simon Fraser Campus Map Behind the ScenesBelow is a photo of the West Mall Centre, dressed as the Delphi Museum for 'Kobol's Last Gleaming II.' Photos are copyright Maurice Woodworth and are not to be re-used without his written consent. Our photo is included for reference. Travel Tip: Used in many episodes, Simon Fraser University doubles as nuked Caprica in Kobol's Last Gleaming II. The West Mall Centre (right across from parking, as pictured) was used to represent the facade of the Delphi Museum. The match of Helo and Sharon at the bottom of the gallery was taken at the Transportation Centre. Finding a map on campus can be difficult, so use an online map like the one at the beginning of this post to help you plot your route through campus (or bring it up on your phone while you're there). 2. Interior Delphi Museum This set was constructed in the old Woodwards building in downtown Vancouver. This building's roof is also where you see Six, Doral and Sharon standing in Litmus. It was torn down several years ago. 3. Kobol - Raptor crash site Widgeon Slough - Facility run by Metro Vancouver Behind the ScenesThis is a photo of Widgeon Slough, dressed as Kobol for 'Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part II.' Travel Tips: The road to this area is private and gated; there is no public access. As a side note, the popular Twilight series filmed here as well. 4. The Opera House The Orpheum Theatre, 850 block on the corner of Smithe and Seymour Streets, Vancouver Behind the ScenesAnother look at the stage at the Orpheum Theatre, dressed for 'Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part II.' Travel Tips: Appearing in numerous episodes, The Opera House is an amazing spot to visit. In July and August, The Orpheum Theatre provides public tours that cost about $10 per person. The tour is two hours long and you get to explore the Orpheum from basement to attic! An article about tours in 2011: Orpheum Tours. Our tour guide, Arthur, was such a nice guy. There was an orchestra rehearsing while we were there, so we had to wait quite a while before we could get on stage. At first, Arthur would only let us peek into the theatre, then after a few more minutes of exploring, he let us quietly step in and walk a few meters to stand and listen. Finally, he got comfortable enough with Anne and me that he let us sit in balcony seats and enjoy the music. It was amazing. The orchestra rehearsal was scheduled to end at 12:30 pm, but we got worried as they seemed to be in the middle of a very long piece as the time approached. In the end, they stopped mid-piece and packed up their stuff on the dot of 12:30 pm! It was AWESOME to be on stage. Nuked Caprica - somewhere outside the Delphi Museum Simon Fraser University. The entrance is where Burnaby Mountain Parkway meets Gaglardi Way. Simon Fraser Campus Map Photo courtesy of Guy Earle. Travel Tips: This area is the stairs just before you enter the academic quadrangle. I couldn't resist recreating this screencap as best as we could with just two people (and my limited leg-acting skills!). Finding a map on campus can be difficult, so use an online map like the one at the beginning of this post to help you plot your route through (or bring it up on your phone while you're there). We recommend parking in front of the West Mall Centre (aka the museum at Delphi!) as the best way to access all the sites at SFU (see photo, click to enlarge). This episode has three locations. 1. As a side note, the Twilight series filmed here as well. 3. Delphi Museum The West Mall building, Simon Fraser University Entrance is where Burnaby Mountain Parkway meets Gaglardi Way. It was torn down several years ago. This episode has three locations. 1. Nuked Caprica - Kara gets shot Robert Burnaby Park, Edmonds and 4 Street, Burnaby Travel Tips: The location is at the south end of Robert Burnaby Park, near the baseball diamond. Enter the forest beside right field. The truck and Kara's shooting were filmed along the path, and Roslin's dream sequence from 'Flesh and Bone' was filmed in the forest on the left. Our photos above may not be perfect matches as we didn't have a lot of time to search for this particular location. Did you find it? Please contact us with stories and pics! 2. Resistance Base Pacific Vocational Institute, north end of 251 A street, Maple Ridge (site has been demolished) Behind the ScenesBelow are a set of reference photos taken by location manager Kent Sponagle when scouting the site! Location Notes: The base was at the old PVI (Pacific Vocational Institute) in Maple Ridge, north end of 251A Street. This was a facility to teach young offenders a trade. It was torn down immediately after BSG shot there in Season 2. It was slated to become a new subdivision, but nothing has been developed as of 2012. Have you been to the area? If so contact us with an update! 3. Kara's Hospital Riverview Hospital, 2601 Lougheed Highway, Coquitlam A good interactive map is here. Travel Tips: We passed Riverview Hospital on our way to the Breeder's Canyon site in Coquitlam. Traffic can be bad here, so we'd suggest going on a weekday. This location used to be a mental institution and is now used exclusively for filming. A security vehicle drove the grounds when we were there. We didn't make any effort to hide what we were doing, and the driver simply smiled and waved at us as he drove by. The resistance base camp used for 'The Plan' is also in this complex--The Northlawn Building.
The interior scenes from The Farm were filmed on stage. This episode has two locations. 1. The Riverwalk Market Entrance is where Burnaby Mountain Parkway meets Gaglardi Way. Simon Fraser Campus Map Behind the ScenesBelow is a photo of the academic quadrangle at SFU dressed as Adar's Office for 'Epiphanies.' Photos are copyright Maurice Woodworth and are not to be re-used without his written consent. Our photo is included for reference. Photo courtesy of Guy Earle Travel Tip: An absolute not-to-be-missed location in Burnaby, Simon Fraser University appears in many episodes. Finding a map on campus can be difficult, so use an online map like the one at the beginning of this post to help you plot your route through campus (or bring it up on your mobile device while you're there). We recommend parking in front of the West Mall Centre (aka the museum at Delphi!) as the best way to access all the sites at SFU (see photo, click to enlarge). 2. Roslin's Doctor's Office The Waterfall Building, 1540 West 2nd Avenue, Vancouver Travel Tips: Used in many episodes, The Waterfall Building was Roslin's doctor's office in both the miniseries and Epiphanies (in flashback). Parking is an issue here--there is a gravel pay lot just across from the building that is best. There is also, appropriately, a Starbucks nearby!
This episode has eight locations. 1 & 2. Kara's apartment and Roslin's apartment The Waterfall Building, 1540 West 2nd Avenue, Vancouver Travel Tips: Kara's apartment remains consistently the Waterfall Building throughout the series. In Daybreak, we see Roslin's Caprica apartment for the first time. It's the penthouse on the east side of the complex. Parking is an issue here--there is a gravel pay lot just across from the building that is best. There is also, appropriately, a Starbucks nearby! 3. Baltar's Father's House Private residence in West Vancouver. Travel Tips: Baltar's father's place was a small house in West Vancouver. Private. 4. Daybreak Fountain Simon Fraser University, entrance is where Burnaby Mountain Parkway meets Gaglardi Way. A behind the scenes look at Underworld 4 Travel Tips: Yes, I walked into the reflecting pool at the academic quadrangle. :) At that time, May 2010, there was no algae or koi in the water, and it was ridiculously cold, but very clean. We were there on a Friday afternoon, so there were virtually no students on campus. In 2011, the algae and koi were back, causing Anne to rethink her own wading plans, and we walked into a film shoot for Underworld 4! This episode has two locations. 1. 'The Shore' Barnet Marine Park: Travel east on Hastings Street. Keep left on Barnet Highway, and follow signs for the park. Google Earth Map provided by Kent Sponagle. Travel Tips: This location is very close to Simon Fraser University, and can be easily combined with a visit there. There is limited parking; try to park as far east as you can. If you find you need to cross a metal bridge, you've gone the wrong way. This site is gorgeous--it's amazing to check out the view that the families had. 2. Roslin's Vision Boat The boat is located at the Plaza of Nations: 750 Pacific Blvd, Vancouver, Dock B Google Earth map provided by Kent Sponagle. The vision boat cruised around the Burrard Inlet as shown on the map. Please view the boat from the upper part of the dock. The public can charter this boat, but it is expensive and mostly for groups of 100 or more.
